Last week, Angelina Jolie sold her home in Los Feliz for $24.75 million.
Magazine and RadarOnline say Madonna is behind it. They say a Hollywood lawyer with a lot of famous clients set up the LLC. Nobody has confirmed that yet. What we do know is that Madonna took a video tour of the house in August, according to the New York Post.
The house has real history. It was built in 1913. Cecil B. DeMille bought it in 1916 for $27,893. A few years later he bought the house next door, which had belonged to Charlie Chaplin, and joined the two with a glass hallway. He lived there until he died in 1959.
Jolie bought it in 2017 for $24.5 million. She listed it this May for $29.85 million. It sold about 143 days later for $5.1 million less than the ask.

I like seeing a sale like this close in LA. Nearly $25 million is a serious number although probably nothing for Madonna, and getting this property sold in under five months deserves credit.
I can understand the appeal. Two acres in Los Feliz, a gated setting, and a home with a real Hollywood story.
Ask was $29.5M and sold for a $5M discount. I think this is more about the pride of ownership of this home and the story than it being an investment.
Madonna has been reported as the buyer, though that remains unconfirmed. If it is her, I like seeing her put that kind of money into an LA property. Either way, a buyer saw enough value here to commit nearly $25 million. That is serious capital.
This sale won’t tell us where the whole market is headed especially with the way rates rallied. This house might have even been an all cash purchase. Its a piece of art, not just an investment. Overall with all the bad news, this one gives me something to feel good about.
